Access to Health Records and Reports

There are several statues in place that afford patients the right of access to information held about them by General Practices.

These are;

UK law

1.  To establish the right of access to health records by the individuals to whom they relate and other persons

2.  To provide for the correction of inaccurate health records

UK law

1.  To establish a right of access by individuals to reports relating to themselves provided by medical practitioners for employment or insurance purposes.

European law

To protect natural (living) EU persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data.
