Can I charge to provide a coroners report?

The Coroners Allowances, Fees and Expenses Regulations 2013 came into force on 25 July 2013.

There is no fee for a witness of fact for providing a statement. Expenses are paid for such a witness attending an Inquest. A GP who provides a report is regarded as a witness of fact. A GP who attends the Inquest to give evidence would ordinarily be paid an allowance for doing so. The allowance is £83.50 up to and including 2 hours and £117 for more than 2 hours up to and including 4 hours.
